Veterans of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 formed a new studio in Warsaw. The Polish studio is already working on a game that will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The Warsaw-based game development studio is made of industry veterans and some fresh talents. Founded by Jakub Ben, Pawel Kuleta and Magdalena Furman, the developer is recruiting talent across several departments, mainly for the programmers, designer and artist roles.

Dark Passenger’s first game will take place in Feudal Japan, and per the official website —and how they’re wording it— the title of the game most likely will be “Land of the Cherry Blossom“. The game will be a first-person perspective (FPP), co-op and online multiplayer adventure. It will also include both PvP and PvE elements.

The game will feature shinobis and kunoichis fighting against an unnamed usurper and their forces.

According to the official website of the game, players will take the role of the shinobi and kunoichi warriors. Players will be fighting against a nameless usurper, who overthrew the ruling shogun and took over the throne. Players will face the usurper’s acolytes, as well as other players to complete their tasks.

The game will offer a wide range of weapons to choose from; players can enjoy katanas, short tantos and wakizashi blades, kusarigama chains, shurikens and kunais and many other weapons from the Feudal era of Japan.

The company is yet to show a cinematic trailer or a gameplay video, but the artworks they shared so far look quite interesting.
