Hyper-casual developer CrazyLabs has announced its partnership with Africa-based Carry1st. CrazyLabs will host a hyper-casual game jam with support from Carry1st.
The event will be held between 3-7 February 2022 under the name Game of Thrones Jam. Participation in the event, which will last about three and a half days with various contents, will be free of charge. Game of Thrones Jam will be open to all individual and team participation who have not previously developed a game, provided they have knowledge of code development in Unity and are based in South Africa or Finland.
The event is organized by CrazyLabs, Carry1st, and Jyväskylä Digi & Game Center. Carry1st recently received a $20 million investment to develop its gaming business in Africa. As we predicted on the day of the investment news, the company was quick to take action.
In Game of Thrones Jam, promising games with low CPI (cost per install) will be rewarded. These games will have access to CrazyHubs, which will launch soon. CrazyHubs is a CrazyLabs project aimed at scaling and supporting hyper-casual games.
CrazyLabs previously held a competition with App Annie. This competition aimed to support teams that could develop low-CPI games similar to Game of Thrones Jam.
For Carry1st, this competition will also act as an incubator. The company, which wants to expand its gaming activities in Africa after the investment, will have the chance to discover potential talents thanks to the competition.
