Export revenue of Loop Games

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank drew attention to the fact that the 20-person team paid 200 million Turkish liras in tax and added value to the economy.

The export revenue of Loop Games was announced by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.

Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology, visited Loop Games, which realized exports of 200 million dollars with the hyper-casual game developed in 3 months with a team of 20 people. Bilal Macit, General Manager of R&D Incentives of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, accompanied Varank during his visit to Loop Games, established in 2019 and located in Hacettepe Teknokent.

Varank, who received one-on-one information from Loop Games Founder Mert Gür, gathered and chatted with company employees. Varank stated that last year the company consisted of 7 people, this year the number of employees increased to 20 people, and the company paid 200 million Turkish liras in taxes;

“The team of 20 people sold a game they made in 3 months and brought 200 million dollars of export income to Turkey. Here is what we call the new economy, the value-added economy.”

Varank said that the game industry in Turkey is going very well and that 2 unicorns came out of the country in this field and Turkish companies received good investments.

Loop Games Founder Mert Gür drew attention to the rapid growth of the game industry in Turkey and gave the following words;

“Turkey is one of the best in the industry right now, and the whole world accepts this. If we can focus on this side and create big game companies, no one can catch up with us.”

Noting that the industry’s human resources are at an advanced level, Gür stated that interest in the game industry has started to come from many different fields, such as the finance industry. In addition, Gür said that the support given to the industry in Turkey is in good condition compared to other countries, but these supports are not known enough by the entrepreneurs.

Minister Varank also received information about the current works and new projects of Teknokent from Hacettepe University Rector Mehmet Cahit Güran and Hacettepe Teknokent General Manager Veysel Tiryaki.
