Fire Emblem Heroes recently celebrated its 5th anniversary. Released on February 2, 2017, the game has grossed more than $959 million in five years. Approaching the $1 billion threshold, Fire Emblem Heroes also earned the title of being Nintendo’s highest-revenue mobile game.

Three main countries make up the revenues of the game:

  • Japan ranks first with $523 million in revenue, accounting for about 54.4% of total revenue.
  • USA is second with $308 million in revenue, accounting for about 32% of total revenue.
  • Canada, on the other hand, is the third country where the game generates the most revenue.

The order in the number of downloads of the game changes slightly. Japan and the USA maintain their place in the number of game downloads, while France takes third place. 47.3% (8.3 million) of the downloads of the game, which reached 17.6 million downloads in total, are from Japan and 25.7% (4.5 million) from the USA.

According to Sensor Tower data, the most revenue-generating mobile games for the Nintendo platform were as follows:

  • Fire Emblem Heroes, released in 2017, is the first with $ 959 million,
  • Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, released in 2017, second with $267 million,
  • Mario Kart Tour, released in 2019, ranked third with $259 million.

The common point of these mobile games with the highest revenue is that they contain “Gacha” mechanics. In these games, we unlock various game content in different ways. The items we will have, on the other hand, contain a lot of luck factors. Genshin Impact is one of the most well-known gacha games in the world.
