Hutch expands team with 3 senior hires

Mobile game developer Hutch announced the hiring of three new senior roles, expanding its HR, licensing, and game development teams.

London-based mobile game development studio Hutch has announced the hiring of three new senior positions as it expands its HR, licensing, and game development teams. New entrants bring with them years of experience that will add value through their expertise as the studio continues to grow.

Hutch CEO and co-founder Shaun Rutland said:

Charmaine St John, Head of People

Charmaine started her diverse, 20-year HR career at M&C Saatchi and has since worked for various companies and agencies including Ph.D. and Fuse. A trusted advisor throughout her career, Charmaine has helped companies achieve Top Company status. Thanks to her achievements in Diversity and Inclusion, she has been featured in the iList published by the IPA.

Charmaine joins Hutch as Human Resources Manager. This is a new position designed to support staff development, further enhance the company culture, and continue to foster an inclusive environment where people are inspired to do their best.

Damian Hosen, Game Director

With a broad portfolio of gaming companies including Sony, NaturalMotion, and Sumo Digital, Damian has built a highly successful career and brought over 25 years of expertise to Hutch. Damian has directed successful AAA and mobile games, working on games like LittleBigPlanet 3, Before Dawn as well as managing design departments across the company.

Damian joins Hutch as Game Director for Rebel Racing, where he will manage and expand player experiences and help shape Hutch’s future.

April Huang, Licensing Manager

Starting her career as a teacher in Taiwan and transitioning to Ph.D. research in the Department of Languages in Finland, April’s world-traveling career began when she moved to England to start her gaming career with Codemasters. Over a ten-year period, April has worked on all major games at Codemasters and has risen from the initial Research role to the Senior Licensing Manager role, overseeing all F1 games. Later, he moved into the role of Producer to use his transferable skills.

April joins Hutch as the Licensing Manager, bringing her previous licensing experience to the team. It will seek to further strengthen Hutch’s relationships with licensing partners such as F1 and automakers, as well as explore new partnership opportunities.
