Together with Riot’s regional offices and GlobalGiving, the Riot Games Social Impact Fund stated that it has selected 84 nonprofits in 28 countries/regions leading meaningful and impactful work. Riot also mentioned that it had raised over $6M through in-game fundraisers to create charity pools for each country/region based on their proportionate participation.

Each country has three nonprofits selected by Riot. During December 12-22, players can browse Riot’s website to learn about each nonprofit and choose which one they want Riot to donate to.

The organization with the most votes from each country/region will receive 50% of that country’s charity pool at the end of the voting period. The other two organizations will each receive 25%. Riot has assured fans that each participating nonprofit will receive a minimum grant of $10,000.

Jimmy Hahn, Senior Manager of Social Impact at Riot Games, made comments about the initiative:

“Every year, our players exceed our expectations when it comes to raising money for the Social Impact Fund and participating in our in-game fundraisers; this year was no different. We believe in creating opportunities where players can make meaningful changes in their local communities.”

“Charity voting campaigns are a great way for them to tell us what causes and charities matter most to their communities. We truly have the best players in the world, and I’m excited to see which charities they choose!”

It has been more than ten years since the Social Impact Fund was established, and in that time, more than 400 organizations across 25 countries have received approximately $23 million in grants from the fund.
