Genshin Impact, the mobile sensation that gripped many gamers with its immersive world, is now extending its reach with a trading card game. The feature will be added with the version 3.3 update and will be named Genius Invocation.

The card game will be available to play in both PvE and PvP mode, but the latter won’t dish out any rewards. Battling against NPCs, however, will grant some prizes. The card designs will be based on creatures and characters from the Genshin Impact world. Developer miHoYo states that the game’s PvP mode will be ‘light and casual.’ All cards will be available through regular gameplay.
About a month ago, the game saw a version 3.0 update that brought new characters, domains, equipment, events, main story updates, enemies, and a brand-new full-fledged region. Gamers will have to wait until December 7 to enjoy the version 3.3 update and Genius Invocation.
The announcement about the upcoming card game came as a part of the version 3.1 update stream. Reportedly, this version will further the game’s storyline along with more changes to the 3.0 version.
News about Genius Invocation leaked before the update stream, though. A Twitter user with the username UBatcha had prior information about the card game and shared it on Twitter about a week ago. The posts were very detailed and explained the gameplay mechanics, along with card numbers and character cards.
Genius Invocation looks to be a much more casual version of Gwent or even Hearthstone. The new feature will surely add more versatility to the world of Genshin Impact.
