Ghost Ship Games invests in VR game studio Bolverk Games

Both sides look to benefit from the exchange, gaining access to creative and technological knowledge.

Ghost Ship Games has announced the acquisition of a minority share in Copenhagen-based Bolverk Games. Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed. The companies have stated that this collaboration will aim to drive creative growth and raise both studios to new levels.

According to the press release, the deal marks a significant opportunity for both companies. Ghost Ship will gain access to specialized knowledge in the VR space, while Bolverk Games will look to benefit from the creative support of a fellow game studio.

Soren Lundgaard, CEO of Ghost Ship Games, made comments on the recent investment:

Ghost Ship Games is best known for its co-op game Deep Rock Galactic, reaching over 10 million players. Bolverk Games is among the first VR studios in Denmark and aims to continue its success in pushing the boundaries of VR technology with the support of Ghost Ship Games.

Bolverk Games is currently working on an escape-the-dungeon adventure game called Genotype. The sci-fi adventure takes place in Antarctica and presents the player with a series of moral choices, puzzles, various minigames, and new mechanics.
