In partnership with Hasbro, Voodoo has revealed the next phase of the TRANSFORMERS collaboration in Mob Control with the release of Starscream, the notorious Decepticon, as the fourth playable TRANSFORMERS champion.
This new addition to Mob Control continues the Echoes from Cybertron story mode event, allowing players to unleash Starscream’s cunning and power in the latest episode, ‘Starscream’s Masterplan.’
For the first time on Mob Control, players will command Starscream with unique conversion abilities, switching between robot and jet forms, each with specialized attacks that showcase his stunningly devastating combat style.
Gameplay mechanics for Starscream
Starscream enters the battlefield in robot form, using his iconic null-ray cannons to launch ranged attacks. These powerful blasts can stun enemy champions, briefly disabling their abilities and giving players a strategic advantage.
Players can tap the conversion button at any time to transform Starscream into jet mode, soaring across the screen and launching a series of missile attacks on enemy mobs and champions below.
This attack resembles Mob Control’s popular “Rocket Barrage” but with a twist, as Starscream returns to his starting position and reverts to robot form afterward. A cooldown period ensures that players must strategize the timing of Starscream’s transformation for maximum impact.
Episodic events continues
‘Starscream’s Masterplan’, the fourth episode of Echoes from Cybertron, will challenge players with seven new challenging levels, concluding with a three-round boss battle. Players will need to collect Energon from Energon Chests that spawn during regular gameplay to participate in the event.
Similar to older episodes, players who complete all levels in the episode will collect some of the blueprints needed to unlock Starscream in the Armory. The rest of the blueprints for Starscream will be available in the TRANSFORMERS Season.
To unlock and keep Starscream as a champion in the Armory, players will need to collect Blueprints for Starscream by activating the TRANSFORMERS Premium Pass in the TRANSFORMERS Season, which comes with additional exciting rewards. The TRANSFORMERS Premium Pass will be available starting December 18th, with early access beginning on December 16th.
Leaderboard updates
Players can enjoy the competitive thrill of the TRANSFORMERS LEAGUE leaderboard, which tracks player progress as they replay levels, awarding points for each completed level and tier.
The leaderboard resets every two weeks, keeping the competition fresh and encouraging players to push their skills to new heights. Points are awarded for completed levels, tiers, and looted bricks, with a tier multiplier system that ensures fair competition.
All players will have access to Starscream as a free champion in their loadout throughout the story mode episode, regardless of whether they’ve unlocked him. Similar to the previous Megatron episode, this episode follows the Decepticons side of the story, allowing players to play from a different perspective.
Players can still enjoy all previous episodes—’ Bumblebee to the rescue,’ ‘Master of the Puppets’, and ‘The Rise of Megatron’—alongside this latest release, keeping the full TRANSFORMERS adventure available until the end of the collaboration.
“This ongoing collaboration with Transformers and Hasbro marks an exciting milestone for Voodoo as we establish ourselves as
leading players in casual and midcore gaming. Partnering with such an iconic IP has been a thrilling experience and a testament to the evolution of our games and strategy.Going far beyond a surface-level integration, we introduced playable champions like Optimus Prime and Megatron, along with an engaging story mode.
The overwhelmingly positive response from players—making the Transformers seasons the most popular of the year—proves that Mob Control is now a legitimate platform for top-tier partnerships. We are especially excited for the introduction of Starscream in the upcoming season.”
