Toys for Bob strikes a deal with Xbox after departing from Microsoft

Toys for Bob, the developer known for franchises like “Crash Bandicoot” and “Spyro the Dragon,” has struck a deal with Xbox for their next project.

This follows their recent move to become an independent studio after parting ways with Activision. Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision earlier this year brought Toys for Bob into their fold, but the studio chose independence, reportedly due to cultural differences with Activision. According to Windows Central, Toys for Bob’s leadership is keen on maintaining their team’s unity and returning to their signature style of games.

Xbox’s Matt Booty hinted at the nature of the upcoming game, suggesting it will likely resemble Toys for Bob’s past works. Speculation is rife that it could be a new entry in the “Crash Bandicoot” or “Spyro the Dragon” series, both of which enjoy significant fan bases.

The announcement of Toys for Bob’s partnership with Xbox has generated interest among gamers, particularly those fond of the studio’s whimsical 3D platformers. While details about the game remain scarce, the potential for it to be included in Xbox Game Pass upon release adds to the anticipation.

Whether the game explores familiar franchises or introduces something entirely new, the continuation of Toys for Bob’s legacy promises an engaging experience for players. Toys for Bob’s decision to collaborate with Xbox signifies a new chapter for the studio, one that offers creative freedom while benefiting from the resources of a major gaming platform.

As development progresses on Toys for Bob’s inaugural project as an independent studio, fans eagerly anticipate the future. Whether it’s a return to beloved franchises or exploring fresh ideas, the partnership between Toys for Bob and Xbox holds promise for the gaming community.
