GirlsGame2 was launched in collaboration with Zynga and Unherd India to encourage female high school students in India to pursue careers in gaming, technology, and innovation.

GirlsGame2 is a one-month free, after-school virtual mentoring program for underprivileged female students in India who want to plan their careers but are unsure of how to plan their careers, and have the ambition to make a difference in their lives. Participants will learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSGD), meet experienced industry professionals for career counseling, and develop a game idea with Zynga.

Who can join the GirlsGame2 program?

The GirlsGame2 program will be exclusively for 11th and 12th grade girls in India and will be completely free. The program, which will take place online, will start on July 27 and end on August 20. Also, the program will run from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (IST), coinciding with an after-school time slot.

In addition, GirlsGame2 will be a special program for people from low-income communities and schools. Those who will participate in the program should be able to communicate in basic English, be familiar with technology, and, most importantly, have a strong desire to learn.

What benefits will GirlsGame2 bring to the participants?

Students receive a certificate of completion from the mentor and Unherd. A certificate of completion is provided if the student submits an assignment or project, participates in class discussions, and has at least 80% attendance. Unherd and the respective mentor have sole discretion in issuing a certificate to a student.

Unherd’s advisors may also provide a letter of recommendation as part of participation in the mentoring program. Students should reach their respective advisors directly to request a letter of recommendation. A letter of recommendation is also at the sole discretion of a mentor. Establishing a professional networking relationship in mentoring classes is recommended to improve the career trajectory.
