Cape Town-located mobile game publisher Carry1st announced a partnership with Supercell. Players can now purchase in-game currency, battle passes, and other in-game items for Supercell’s most popular games on the Carry1st Shop.

In-game content for Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Hay Day, and Brawl Stars are now available on the Carry1st Shop for players in their local currencies and using any number of local payment options (mobile money, e-wallets, instant bank transfer, etc). Once purchased, the customer’s Supercell account will be automatically topped up – no vouchers, pins, or hassle required. Fans of Supercell games can also get a 20% discount on top-ups and passes on the Carry1st Shop for the month of October.

Cordel Robbin-Coker, CEO of Carry1st, said, “This partnership is significant as it makes it easy for gamers in Africa to buy items from some of the most popular mobile games in the world in local currency and with payment methods that are available to them. It will also enable Supercell to boost revenue across its titles by tapping into a new, dynamic, and fast-growing gaming market.”

The report by Carry1st projects that the Sub-Saharan Africa gaming market will surpass $1 billion by 2024, with an estimated growth rate of 10.6% in the subsequent year. This growth will be predominantly driven by the mobile game industry, which is expected to outperform console and PC gaming.

Earlier this year, Carry1st raised $27 million in a pre-Series B round. The company previously raised $20 million a year ago with investments from A16z and Google. Carry1st has already published many titles, including SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-off, Mine Rescue, Gebeta, and Match League.
