BebopBee, the mobile game developer aiming to create the next generation of match-3 puzzlers, raised $2 million in funding.
A number of backers participated in the round, as did Bitkraft Ventures, 1Up Ventures, IGG Inc., Dfinity founder Lei Ding, and Machine.ai founder Rohit Singal.
The developer is currently focused on the match-three genre. With its latest title, What a Wonderful World, it aims to create a next generation of match-3 puzzlers experience. The game includes themes of various real-world cities such as Sao Paulo, Moscow, Tokyo and New York.
Still working on innovations, BebopBee also states that they have plans beyond highlighting the famous touristic places of cities in the game. In the context of these plans, the company hopes to partner with content creators to include user-generated content.

“BebopBee has perfected the art of creating immersive, emotive, and highly-shareable experiences with their What a Wonderful World mobile game, with players engaged for almost an hour a day,” said Bitkraft Ventures founding general partner Scott Rupp.
“We believe the team has created a game that has top-10 grossing potential with truly innovative marketability options.”
The studio has said it will use the fund to build its live ops and user acquisition.
Besides, the company appointed SciPlay Corporation chief strategy officer Danny Moy as its new adviser. Having remarkable experience in mobile gaming, Moy worked for King, the creator of Candy Crush for more than seven years.
