Disney has announced it will launch an accelerator program to develop new AR, NFT, and artificial intelligence technologies. Polygon was one of six companies selected for this accelerator program. In addition, Polygon was the only “blockchain-native” company among the chosen.

The six companies the Walt Disney Company has selected for its accelerator program:

  • Flickplay – Web3 social media app
  • Inworld – Artificial intelligence platform
  • Lockerverse – Web3-based storytelling platform
  • Red 6 – Augmented reality company
  • Obsess – E-commerce platform
  • Polygon – Blockchain-native company

Disney will provide capital, mentor support, collaborative workspaces, and many more opportunities to companies selected for the accelerator program. This program aims to develop high-level technologies that will determine the future of AR, NFT, and artificial intelligence. The expertise of the selected companies in their area also supports this.

Bonnie Rosen, General Manager of the “Disney Accelerator” program, said:

“For nearly a century, Disney has been at the forefront of leveraging technology to build the entertainment experiences of the future. With our newest class of companies, we look forward to furthering our commitment to innovation and continuing to bring magical experiences to Disney audiences and guests for the next 100 years.”

The accelerator program will begin next week and be managed by Disney’s Los Angeles headquarters. With the support of companies, each of which has the potential to be a pioneer in their field, Disney can enable the production of new technologies that will be used for many years.
