Tonic Games Group joined Epic Games. Epic, which has made a name for itself after its success with Fortnite announced this partnership on its website.
Tonic Games Group has achieved a tremendous success
Tonic Games Group, joining the Epic Games family, developed the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout game, which became popular in 2020 and was downloaded by millions of people. Epic said in a statement that the style of the game won’t change. For now, plans are about bringing the games to other platforms.
The game is currently available on PC and PlayStation. With this acquisition, it will soon come to Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Commenting after this agreement, Tonic Games Co-Founder and CEO Dave Bailet said:

The mechanics of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will remain the same
With this acquisition, the question of whether there will be a change in the style of the game may be confusing. However, considering that Fall Guys is a battle royale in style and tone similar to Epic Games’ Fortnite, it would be best not to expect any change.
Moreover, Epic Games also states in the blog post that the gameplay isn’t changing. So, it is estimated that there will be no change in features such as account systems, cross-platform, and team modes.
Making a statement about their agreement with Epic, Tonic Games indicated that the two companies have been mutual friends for a while. Likewise, they said that the two companies have a lot in common and share a lot of the same goals.
Both sides focus on the future
Another statement came from Paul Croft, Co-Founder and Head of Games at Tonic Games.
“Beyond the shared vision among our teams, we see tremendous potential in combining forces with Epic. Whether it’s about making our own games the best they can be or empowering other game developers to take their content from a kernel of an idea to commercial success, we know that together we will be able to reach greater heights,” said Croft.
The company, which managed to reach millions with a single game, is now going on a long adventure with a huge platform. “As we try to build the virtual future, we need great creative talents who know how to create powerful games, content and experiences,” said Tim Sweeney, Founder and CEO of Epic Games.
