MiHoYo, the developer behind Genshin Impact, has contributed $65 million to nuclear fusion technology company Energy Singularity. Energy Singularity’s first round of funding, with contributors such as NIO Capital, Sequoia China Seed Fund, and BlueRun Ventures, was led by MiHoYo.
The nuclear fusion company aims to reduce carbon emissions by developing devices called Tokamak and operational control systems. The company intends to use the funds to research and develop advanced magnet systems and materials that provide high-temperature superconductivity, as well as the first small Tokamak experimental device.
According to Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad’s tweet, Energy Singularity’s goal is to primarily use these funds to build “its own Tokamak device by 2024.”
Founded in 2021, The Energy Singularity team includes individuals from Stanford University and Peking University.
