Agave Games, which was founded just last July by Alper Öner and Oğuzhan Merdivenli and defines itself as a hyper-casual game publisher, has successfully completed its first investment round.

Investment tour 500 Istanbul was completed with the participation of Akın Babayiğit and Orkun Kılıç. Agave Games aims to establish a network of 5 studios in the first place with the investment it has received. Agave aims to provide exclusive boutique development and marketability coaching to a select number of studios aiming to generate more profit per resource used.

Oğuzhan, Co-Founder of Agave Games, brings his game design expertise in product management, hyper-casual development and publishing to Agave Games, thanks to his extensive experience as a growth and product manager at Good Job Games (one of the leading hyper-casual publishers with over 2 billion downloads). carrying. He previously led the development and release of hit hyper-casual games like Run Race 3D (250M+ downloads) and Paint Pop 3D (100M+ downloads). Alper brings his big data analytics, business intelligence analytics and expertise during his time at Beghou Consulting in the USA, a Data and Strategy Consulting Company.

Led by two co-founders with complementary experience in project management and hyper-casual development and publishing, Agave Games saw a gap in the market that it could fill. Studios work hard to create games, but the studio-publisher relationship is still a black box model. Game studios can’t see how their games are performing, how their TPGs might change based on in-game tweaks or creative updates and aren’t sure what the publisher did to reach those numbers. As a result, the developer doesn’t have the insights to improve his product. Agave has modeled a better, transparent and trusting relationship between publishers and developers because it understands the dynamics in these relationships and has a strong track record on the commercial side of the game.

Enis Hulli, one of the 500 Istanbul partners, said the following:

“The most important factor in early-stage investments is the team. This plays an even more active role in the gaming industry. Considering their experience and their potential to develop themselves, we believe that Oğuzhan and Alper will write the next great success story of our country in this field. In addition, Akın, whose experience we trust in the sector as both an investor and an entrepreneur, joined Agave as an investor, adding to the strength of the company.”

Additionally, Akın Babayiğit said:

“In these days when everyone is looking at the game industry with interest and the competition is very high, the experiences and data-oriented and product-oriented thinking styles of Oğuzhan and Alper are the factors that we consider indispensable for success. I have no doubt that they will achieve great things in a short time.”
