AppMagic, the app market intelligence platform best known for mobile analytics, announced the launch of Steam Analytics, expanding its platform to cover both mobile and PC game performance through a unified interface.
Key highlights:
- The new module introduces analytics on 130,000 titles and DLCs released on Steam.
- Apart from revenue and downloads figures, it will include user activity metrics such as DAU/MAU, Average Daily Playtime, Daily CCU, followers, and price information.
- AppMagic’s Steam module is fully integrated into its existing platform. This gives users a consistent UI/UX-experience across mobile and PC analytics.

AppMagic will expand its Steam coverage in Q1 2026 with metrics such as regional user activity, wishlists, and review counts and ratings. These features aim to help studios better evaluate early momentum and assess live performance across international markets.
AppMagic’s data shows that two-thirds of PC game revenue on Steam now comes from base game sales, with the remaining third from downloadable content and in-game purchases.
Over 1000 titles have already surpassed $1 million in revenue so far this year, including more than ten that have crossed the $100 million mark – clear signals of the platform’s evolving monetization dynamics.
Exclusive interview with AppMagic CEO Max Samorukov
Following the news, we asked Max Samorukov what this integration means for AppMagic.
What was the internal trigger that convinced you AppMagic needed to expand into PC/Steam analytics, and what were the biggest challenges along the way?
It’s something our clients have been asking for frequently, and it’s the most natural next step for our platform—especially considering that most of our users come from the gaming industry. At the same time, the market clearly lacks a truly cross-platform analytics solution that enables comprehensive insights across the entire games ecosystem.
We decided to fill that gap. Our Steam analytics is just the beginning—next will come support for Xbox and PlayStation, followed by a full toolset for cross-platform analysis.

Steam data is famously difficult to access. How do you ensure the accuracy and trustworthiness of your metrics, and what should users understand about the limits of the data?
We’re releasing only the first version of our Steam Games Intel platform for now. We’ll be collecting feedback, expanding the toolset, and continuously improving accuracy. That said, we know this field well – and the methodology behind our system already has a very strong potential for precision.
Do you already have early adopters or case studies using Steam Analytics? What insights or surprises have emerged from those first experiences?
During development, we conducted several closed trials with selected clients who provided feedback on both functionality and accuracy. To be honest, there weren’t many surprises — we have a pretty clear understanding of what the market needs.

Why was Steam the immediate priority over consoles, and what are the biggest barriers (technical, business, or political) to expanding into console analytics in the future?
When deciding, we considered development complexity, client demand, and time to value. Steam quickly stood out — it was frequently requested by our clients, and compared to consoles, it’s a much more open ecosystem. That said, our Console Games Intel is already going through initial trials with selected partners — so stay tuned.
How do you think cross-platform analytics will reshape the way studios plan, launch, and manage their games?
Comprehensive cross-platform analytics would make market insights clearer and more complete. At the moment, companies working across PC, console, and mobile platforms have to rely on multiple, disconnected systems — each with its own genre taxonomy, revenue definitions, and data gaps, such as missing IAP or DLC revenue estimates. Beyond the inconsistencies, it’s simply inefficient and inconvenient.

Looking ahead, how does Steam Analytics fit into your broader, long-term vision for AppMagic?
Our long-term vision is to deliver a fully cross-platform analytics solution that unites mobile, PC, and console markets — covering every revenue source, from ad monetization and third-party payment systems to web games. In parallel, we’re advancing our toolset to make analysis increasingly deep, insightful, and actionable.
