Co-Founder of Playground Games Gavin Raeburn reveals new AAA studio Lighthouse Games

The newly formed company is currently working on an unannounced new IP.

Gavin Raeburn, former Studio Head and Co-Founder of Forza Horizon developer Playground Games, has revealed his new triple-A studio, Lighthouse Games. Raeburn heads a team of developers currently working on an unannounced new IP.

Lighthouse Games will be the home of 30 former colleagues, including former key Playground Games members and industry heavyweights. The newly formed company shared a post on its LinkedIn profile saying, “Lighthouse Games is defined by the pedigree of its talent and its serious ambition. Gavin is assembling a veteran team, including key founding members of Playground Games’ original team and other industry-leading talent, to build a new best-in-class game.”

Speaking about the new studio Raeburn said:

“With Horizon, Playground and I created one of the most successful Xbox franchises of all time. We delivered significant commercial success year after year, to massive critical acclaim, following the success from my time at Codemasters leading Dirt, Grid and F1. That DNA is now at Lighthouse, and with it, we intend to build something truly special using all our experience to create a new genre-defining franchise.”

Lighthouse Games is recruiting game industry talent at every level, across all disciplines, offering them a seat at the forefront of AAA innovation. 

Lighthouse will be based in the global game development hub, Leamington Spa.
