Good Job Games secures investment from Menlo Ventures

Good Job Games secures an undisclosed investment from Menlo Ventures, marking the VC firm’s first entry into the Turkish market.

According to a submission published on the Turkish Competition Authority’s website, Good Job Games has received an undisclosed investment from Bay Area venture capital firm Menlo Ventures.

Although the exact amount and the details of the stake remain confidential, the filing notes that the investment includes several Menlo Ventures funds: Menlo Ventures XVI, L.P., Menlo Olympus Fund I, L.P., Menlo Entrepreneurs Fund XVI, L.P., and Menlo CxO Fund XVI, L.P.

This investment marks Menlo Ventures’ third foray into the gaming industry and its first in a Turkish startup. The Silicon Valley venture capital firm is known for backing early-stage companies across consumer, enterprise, and healthcare technologies.

Notable previous investments include Hotmail (acquired by Microsoft), Siri (acquired by Apple), Tumblr (acquired by Yahoo), and Uber (listed on NYSE). On the gaming side, the VC has invested in Barnyard Games and Brain Jar Games.

Good Job Games’ portfolio

Good Job Games, established in 2017 by Ilker Ilicali, has developed over 30 games, amassing more than 100 million downloads globally. The Istanbul-based company has recently launched two new puzzle titles, Wonder Blast and Match Villains, highlighting its continued growth in the mobile gaming space.

Good Job Games has seen rapid success in recent years. In June 2023, the company sold its hyper-casual game portfolio to AI Games FZ, a subsidiary of Azur Games. Prior to that, in December 2022, Good Job Games sold its popular game Zen Match to Moon Active for an estimated $100 million.
