Nintendo announces the acquisition of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore

Nintendo strengthens its internal development structure by acquiring an initial 80% stake in Bandai Namco Studios Singapore.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced that it has entered into a share transfer agreement with Bandai Namco Studios Inc. to acquire shares of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore. The primary objective of the acquisition is to strengthen Nintendo’s development structure globally.

Following the successful acquisition of shares, BNSS is slated to become a subsidiary of Nintendo and will continue its operations under the new name Nintendo Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd.

The Singapore-based studio, established by the Bandai Namco Group, specializes in game development, with a particular focus on the creation of in-game art assets. BNSS has maintained an ongoing business relationship with Nintendo and has contributed to the development of several Nintendo titles, including the Splatoon series.

Nintendo plans to acquire 80% of BNSS shares on April 1, 2026, subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions for transactions of this nature. The company further noted that the remaining shares will be acquired at a later date, once the subsidiary’s operations have stabilized.
