According to data from its LinkedIn page, the New Zealand-based company with expertise in Unreal Engine was founded in 2007 and currently employs 12 people.
Digital Confectioners Director James Tan announced that with the new financing, new financing would further expand the company, and two new games will be worked on. Tan also added the following comments:
“Tencent provided us with insights into the China market and how Dread Hunger hit the mark with players seeking a higher skill-cap gameplay compared to other social deception titles. We’re excited to see where this takes us and what it can enable us to do in future”
James Tan also stated that the way the company works would not change with this investment; on the contrary, it will be more helpful.
Tencent continues to grow and develop day by day. China removed the obstacles NetEase and Tencent faced, and both companies breathed a sigh of relief. There is also a portable cloud gaming device that the company co-developed with Logitech.
