Blockchain gaming giant Alien Worlds is introducing in-game DAOs to its ecosystem called Syndicates. Players can program Syndicates to grow their planets and govern their communities by electing Custodian leaders.

Alien Worlds has 8.3 million players and more than 700,000 monthly active users. Saro McKenna, the Co-Founder, and CEO said “After more than two years of development and scaling, our in-game DAOs are ready to be run by players. This is not only critical to gameplay, since each planet is ultimately competing for supremacy, but it is also crucial to our mission: to transform the ways players are experiencing gaming, and ultimately giving them control of their own experience

On 20 October, the first election period on each Planet opened and will last for two weeks; after that time, so long as there are at least five candidates per Syndicate and at least one vote cast for each, the Syndicates will be placed under Custodian control. Elections within Syndicates are set to take place every seven days after that.
