Outfit7’s brand Talking Tom & Friends has managed to become the most downloaded mobile game IP worldwide in 2022, according to Data.ai, mantling the title for ten consecutive years in a row.
Since its launch in 2010, Outfit7 has strategically expanded the gaming portfolio of Talking Tom & Friends over the years, adding more mechanics, experiences, and characters. There are currently over 20 games from the Talking Tom IP, the latest being My Talking Angela 2, launched in 2021.
Data.ai stated that the IP had seen seven games in the Top 100 Monthly Active User (MAU) rankings back in 2021. Outfit7 took the crown in this category, surpassing Supercell, Playrix, and Supersonic (4), along with Voodoo (3).
The time-tested IP has managed to compete and overcome huge names in mobile gaming with the likes of Candy Crush Saga, Pokémon, Angry Birds, and PUBG. Data.ai reported the following:
“Talking Tom & Friends has seen off genre-defining IPs such as Angry Birds, Candy Crush Saga, and PUBG to remain the most downloaded series of games on iOS and Google Play combined from 2013 to the present.”
Outfit7’s CEO, Xinyu Qian, shared thoughts about the success of Talking Tom & Friends:

Outfit7 stated that My Talking Angela 2 was downloaded by 120 million users in the first month alone, as the company’s total download count tallies over 19 billion.
