BITKRAFT Ventures, a global investment platform, has announced its expansion into Asia by appointing Jin Oh as Partner and Jonathan Huang as Principal. The addition of these two experienced individuals will help BITKRAFT identify and invest in promising gaming and interactive entertainment startups in the region.

Oh, based in Seoul, is the former President of World-Wide Publishing at Riot Games, CEO of Garena (Sea Ltd.), and Managing Director at Blizzard Entertainment. At the same time, Huang is a seasoned TMT early, and growth equity investor focused on interactive entertainment. The firm’s move to establish a team in Asia is a testament to the size of the Asian gaming market and the increasing entrepreneurial activity in the game industry.

The expansion also includes promoting Los Angeles-based veteran team member Jasper Brand to Partner and South Africa-based Justin Swart to Principal, which rounds out BITKRAFT’s global presence, including leadership in Europe, America, and Africa. The brand has been instrumental in investments, including Frost Giant Studios, Inworld AI, and Theorycraft Games, and serves on the boards of several portfolio companies. As a Partner, he will continue to focus on BITKRAFT’s game studio strategy, emerging opportunities in AI and UGC, and overall U.S. coverage with his presence in Los Angeles.

Swart is a crucial member of BITKRAFT’s Web3 team and covers the Africa region, which has doubled the number of gamers in the last five years. At BITKRAFT Ventures, he has led deals such as Carry1st, South Africa’s leading game publisher.

Asia-Pacific is the largest gaming market in the world, accounting for 48% of the global gaming revenue in 2022. By adding Jin Oh and Jonathan Huang to BITKRAFT’s team the firm aims to become Asia’s leading game industry venture capital. The geographical distribution of BITKRAFT’s team enables them to see regional trends and opportunities early and execute deals globally.
