Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gets a critical update

One of the most important AAA games of the year had a very problematic release, especially on the PC side.

The fact that even Respawn Entertainment -one of the most reliable companies of the last decade- couldn’t escape from the recent trend of “AAA games releases with many problems” may have broken the hopes of many gamers. On the other hand, the update released today for PC and coming to next-gen consoles tomorrow promises to fix many problems.

The game was released with so many bugs, especially on the PC side. While some players couldn’t even open the game, many players had to struggle with performance hovering around 20fps and the console versions had problems as well. As the game’s Steam user ratings have been plummeting, Respawn seems to have rolled up its sleeves to get “what promises to be a very good adventure when it works right” back on track.

While today’s PC patch promises to fix performance issues you can see in the list below, another patch is expected to be released for consoles tomorrow.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal, our protagonist, continues to develop as a Jedi while the Empire breathes down his neck. Cal is reunited with BD-1, the tiny droid that captured our hearts from the previous game, as well as familiar faces like Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), Greez Dritus (Daniel Roebuck), Merrin (Tina Ivlev), and new allies like Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal), as they take on the Empire and other dangerous forces in the galaxy. To succeed in this struggle, players will learn new Jedi abilities, become lightsaber masters and find different ways to travel to multiple planets, all of which are different from each other.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is available now at retail and digitally on PC via the EA App, Steam and Epic Games Store.
