The 2023 BAFTA Games Awards winners were announced in a ceremony hosted by Frankie Ward at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall and live-streamed on Twitch. God of War Ragnarök won five BAFTAs including The EE Game of the Year, the only award voted for by the public.

The ceremony saw God of War Ragnarök named the EE Game of the Year, beating nominees Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Immortality, Marvel Snap, and Stray. The award showcases the games that have resonated most with players worldwide – capturing imaginations and keeping the public entertained and connected over the past year – and is the only category voted for by players themselves.
Pete Jeavons, Marketing Communications Director at EE, said: “Congratulations to God of War Ragnarök for winning the public’s hearts and taking home the EE Game of the Year Award. As the UK’s unbeatable network for gaming, we’re proud to provide a platform for this community to celebrate the game that has entertained and connected them over the past year.”
Vampire Survivors won two BAFTAs, Best Game and Game Design, while Elden Ring, the game that has swept the game of the year awards so far, went home with two BAFTAs, Multiplayer and Original Property.
The Games Awards are supported by BAFTA’s Official Games Partners Epic Games, PlayStation and Xbox, with EE sponsoring the Game of the Year Award.
