Kek Entertainment announced that it has raised $3 million in its pre-seed investment round. The company will use this investment to develop mobile action games.
It is stated that the investment made in Kek Entertainment, which was founded by former leaders of Pixonic and My.Games, came from The Games Fund (TGF) and Play Ventures. With this investment, Eastern Europe is now turning into a very suitable home for new game studios. In addition, the leading name of the investment tour, The Games Fund, underlines that there are more than 5,000 game studios in Eastern Europe.
Having worked under Pixonic in the past, Georgy Egorov and Oleg Poroshin now manage an experienced team at Kek Entertainment. The duo had been involved in the project of a mobile shooter game called War Robots with Pixonic in the past and managed to increase the revenues of the game by over 200%. The priority of Egorov and Poroshin, who are waiting to reach their goals by taking more solid steps in the game industry with Kek Entertainment, is to develop a multiplayer mobile action game.
Egorov made the following comments on the subject:
“We had a lot of fun working at Pixonic, achieved tremendous results, and we are thankful to our team and My.Games for all the experience and support. Now we are ready to launch our own company in the most exciting and fastest-growing entertainment niche — competitive multiplayer games. Our targets are to build a dream team and create a breakthrough game utilizing all our experience and insights. We believe that teaming up with TGF and Play Ventures — founder-friendly investors who understand video games as developers — is a perfect fit for us.”
Maria Kochmola, co-founder of The Games Fund, added:
“We’ve seen Georgy and Oleg in action, leading a top-notch team of War Robots, one of the most successful multiplayer mobile games on the market, and making it a global success. They are one of the best founding teams in the region, and we are honored that, among many options, Kek chose TGF as their partner for this adventure.”
Harri Manninen, co-founder of Play Ventures, added these sentences after the investment round:
“We were blown away by Georgy, Oleg, and the KEK team from the very beginning. Their insights from Pixonic and their experience with War Robots, their takes on innovating in the space, and their ability to execute as world-class gaming operators impressed us. We’re excited to be supporting Kek in their quest.”
