Like any other game, Overwatch includes tons of cosmetics that players can collect, such as skins, sprays, or player icons. However, there is currently no ownership system that prevents the items in the game from being owned by others.
But according to an Overwatch Senior Designer, players needn’t worry as there won’t be any changes in this regard any time soon. Jorge Murillo, a designer on the Overwatch team, shared a Tweet about NFTs and their potential to be added to Overwatch.

“I’m not going to QT (Quote Retweet) the person because I don’t like the dogpiling that happens on Twitter, but as a dev on the Overwatch team, I am strongly against NFTs and will fight to make sure they aren’t integrated into our game.”
Time will tell whether NFTs will come to Overwatch or Overwatch 2, significantly as the game changes with the Microsoft acquisition in the coming months.
