The Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2023 winners have been announced during an exclusive ceremony held on April 20th at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, London. The event was attended by members of the global games industry, who gathered to celebrate and recognize the achievements of individuals and businesses driving the $90 billion mobile games industry forward.
Steel Media CEO Chris James expressed his excitement for the current state of the mobile games industry and the level of talent showcased at the event. Despite the industry’s contraction in 2022, James believes the mobile industry is stronger than ever and will soon break the $100 billion barrier.
The awards highlighted the best developers, service providers, publishers, and games. The winners included Disney Mirrorverse (Kabam) for the Pocket Gamer People’s Choice award, Unity Ads and AppLovin for Best Advertising & UA Service, AppsFlyer for Best Analytics / Data Tool, Tripledot Studios for Best Developer, and Photon for Best GAAS Tools & Tech.
Other notable winners were Candy Crush Saga (King) for Best Audio / Visual Accomplishment, Unity for Best Game Engine / Platform, Star Trek: Lower Decks (East Side Games) for Best Storytelling, and Rusty Lake for Best Indie Developer. Marvel Snap (Nuverse) and Subway Surfers Tag (Sybo) shared the Game of the Year award, while Nour Khrais (Maysalward) was named Mobile Legend.
