Indian game developer SuperGaming has raised $15 million in a new funding round to grow its flagship title Indus Battle Royale and expand into international markets. This Series B round brings the company’s total valuation to around $100 million, which is nearly five times higher than its previous valuation in 2021.

The funding round was led by existing investors Skycatcher and Steadview Capital. It also included participation from big names in the gaming and tech industry such as a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco’s 021 Fund, Neowiz, and Polygon Ventures.

Other Web3-focused backers like Sandeep Nailwal, Decentralised.co, Ryze Labs, 4th Revolution Capital, 32-Bit Ventures, and Visceral Capital also joined. Previous investors like AET Fund Japan and BACE Capital returned as well.

Founded in 2017 by Roby John, Navneet Waraich, Sanket Nadhani, Christelle D’cruz, and Sreejit J, SuperGaming plans to use the funds to take Indus Battle Royale to international players, starting with Latin America. The company has partnered with Brazilian esports organization LOUD.GG to help with this rollout.

Besides game development, SuperGaming is also working on its own tools for building and managing online games. This includes the SuperPlatform and Indus Engine, which use Google Cloud. These tools are designed to help other studios, especially those in smaller markets, create games with online features, in-game stores, and even blockchain support.

“We are at an inflection point where India’s role in gaming evolves from a consumer market to a driving force in innovation, and this investment fuels that transition.

“Indus Battle Royale’ is just our beginning. It is a showcase of the quality and scale that we can achieve. But our deeper mission is to empower the gaming ecosystem through SuperPlatform.

“We’re providing developers worldwide with the tech backbone to bring their most ambitious visions to life, including seamless integration of web3.”
