SuperPlayer will come with a World Cup organization, which the company defines as an immersive experience that users worldwide can participate in from their homes. The organization will invite gamers to compete and become the best goalkeeper or striker. A prize pool of $3,000 was also announced for this tournament.
The VR football game consists of two modes that put players in either a goalkeeper’s or a striker’s shoes. In the Keeper mode, players will have to perform saves with their hands, and in the Striker mode, the game allows players to score goals with their heads.
Iker Zuasti, CEO of BeFootball, made these comments about the upcoming VR title:
“BeFootball is born to revolutionize the football industry through virtual reality, and SuperPlayer is our first big bet: we are developing the world’s first immersive metaverse of football.”
The company has also revealed plans for building the world’s first immersive football metaverse, with the participation of professional footballers, such as Marcos Llorente, Memo Ochoa, Marco Asensio, and Charly Rodríguez.
BeFootball characterized this new metaverse platform as “a combination of gaming, virtual reality, and football that offers a new way of experiencing football.” It offers fans a chance to overcome the role of spectator and participate in the vast world of football.
The SuperPlayer World Cup event will take place between November 20 and December 18. The game is free-to-play and currently available on the Meta Quest store.
