Joygame, which was established in 2009, made a 50 percent sale to CJ Games in 2013 and decided to pursue its activities as Netmarble Turkey. Today, Netmarble Turkey received investment from a Canadian company called Yazoo and has agreed to continue its activities as Joygame.
In addition to this decision, Joygame announced that investments in-game studios, especially NFT, will increase and support studios that produce hyper-casual and hybrid-casual games and develop NFT-based games.
Netmarble EMEA President Barış Özistek stated that they focused on growing together with Turkish game studios by publishing hyper and hybrid-casual games in vast geography from America to China and continued his speech with the following words:
“While we continue our current activities under the name of Joygame, we will take place in international markets with the games we developed together with the studios we partnered with in Turkey. We have partnered with 6 studios so far. We aim to triple this figure by accelerating our investments in 2022.”
Adding a new one on top of all these developments, Özistek announced that the new CEO of Joygame is the former Publicis Groupe Performance Team General Manager Özberk Ölçer and added:
“Performance marketing and data have become the most important competencies for success in the game industry. I believe that Özberk Ölçer, who has been working successfully in this field for many years, will add value and successfully lead the experienced Joygame team as they pursue their rapid growth targets in the international game market.”
Today, when NFT and metaverse games are popular, there are significant changes in the industry. The fact that most game companies announce NFT collections and enter the metaverse indicates this popularity.
Stating that as Joygame, they will launch the first NFT games this year, Özistek noted that the number of players and the time spent in the games would experience an extraordinary increase with NFT games.
