After 2 years of trial and error, hackers managed to jailbreak Sony’s PlayStation 5 which essentially may lead to unauthorized functions and contents that would normally be restricted.
Jailbreak, the PS5 IPV6 Kernel exploit, relies on a previous vulnerability in PS5’s web browser technology Webkit on old firmware, 4.03 or lower, and it does not seem to work all the time. This exploit gives users access to install files but still restricts access to launch them.

Famous modder Lance McDonald showcased the jailbreak by installing the Kojima-directed Silent Hill game P.T. It was removed from PlayStation Store in 2015 and has achieved cult status since then.
Previous PlayStation consoles like PS3 and PS4 had seen successful jailbreaks, which increased piracy. PS5 is currently on the safer side, but it might be the breaching point.
Sony has not made any statements about the jailbreak.
