Tencent’s PUBG Mobile continues to do extremely well as the mobile game surpassed $8 billion in worldwide lifetime player spending across Apple’s App Store and Google Play according to the data Sensor Tower provided.

The game is one of the top revenue-generating titles worldwide, earning $650 million in Q1 2022 alone. The only game that accumulated more than PUBG Mobile in this quarter is Honor of Kings, yet another Tencent title.

PUBG Mobile has earned $4.7 billion in lifetime revenue in China alone, however, under the alias of Game For Peace. This means, that the lifetime player spending in China roughly adds up to 57% of PUBG Mobile’s lifetime revenue. Outside of China, the title has picked up $3.5 billion in revenue. The USA ranks number two for player spending at more than 11 percent, followed by Turkey at about 4 percent.

Monster Strike from Mixi and Clash of Clans from Supercell, alongside Honor of Kings are the other games that reached the $8 billion milestone.

Quarterly revenue in PUBG Mobile during Q1 2022 was at its lowest since Q4 2020, having said that, the shooter category itself saw a steep decline in Q1 as player spending fell by 14 percent year over year to $1.4 billion. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since the worldwide mobile games market also saw a revenue slump by 6 percent year-over-year across the App Store and Google Play.

Apple’s App Store accounts for the lion’s share of PUBG Mobile’s worldwide revenue, reaching approximately 81 percent of total player spending, meaning only 19 percent of the total revenue comes from Google Play.
