The new title is set in the fictional town of Bikini Bottom and will feature fan-favorite characters from the SpongeBob cartoon. A cooking game at its core, players will also be able to customize their restaurants and explore familiar places in the area.

SpongeBob: Get Cooking! is based on the award-winning Tilting Point title named SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off. The 2020 game has seen over 58 million downloads until today.

The collaboration between Tilting Point and Netflix spans over three games that will come out consecutively. Along with the SpongeBob and Narcos titles, a third mobile-based game is also being developed by Emerald City Games, inspired by another successful Netflix series. Although it is known that the third game will come out sometime in 2023, the genre and content are a mystery for now.

Kevin Segalla, CEO and Founder of Tilting Point, shared his thoughts about his company’s ongoing partnership with Netflix:

“Our guiding principle is to find every way to maximize a game’s reach to new audiences, geographies, and platforms, so for us to expand the possibilities for our games through this partnership with Netflix is an incredibly exciting moment. We diversify and publish games on multiple platforms and services, depending on where they fit best. We know that mobile games like SpongeBob: Get Cooking, Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited, and more are in development, are all perfect matches, and will provide incredibly rewarding experiences for Netflix members.”

Night School Studio had also recently launched a Netflix Edition for its multiple award-nominated game Oxenfree. Tilting Point has also announced that the next game on the launch list will be Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited.
