GFK Entertainment, the well-known German market research company, announced the best-selling games in the UK for the last week of October. Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the fastest-selling Mario game in Europe, dethroned Sony’s Spider-Man 2 as the best-selling boxed game in the UK.
Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1 and EA SPORTS UFC 5 were the newcomers for this week. Konami’s compilation package includes Metal Gear and its sequel, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, along with Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater. The collection was released on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S earlier this week.

2023 has been very good for the Super Mario franchise. The Super Mario Bros. movie, based on Nintendo’s Mario video game franchise, became the highest-grossing video game film ever. The movie has grossed over $677 million, $347 million in the US and $330 million internationally. In just one week after its release, Super Mario Bros. Wonder became the fastest-selling Mario game in Europe.
