World-famous football star Cristiano Ronaldo has entered the world of video game investments, contributing to the funding of over $40 million for UFL, an upcoming free-to-play football video game. Ronaldo’s involvement extends beyond financial support, as he actively participates in shaping UFL’s development, aligning with the game’s mission to redefine how football enthusiasts engage with virtual gaming experiences.
UFL, developed by Strikerz, the gaming brand under XTEN Limited, aims to revolutionize online football simulation gaming. With a global team of over 200 people across four regional offices, Strikerz is set to create a leading game for football fans worldwide.
Cristiano Ronaldo, with a massive number of 614 million followers on Instagram, stated, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this project as UFL can become the new breed in football gaming.”
Eugene Nashilov, CEO of Strikerz, expressed the significance of Ronaldo joining as a partner and investor, calling it a substantial step forward and an endorsement of their vision. UFL emphasizes solid gameplay, rewarding tactical knowledge and gaming skills. The game allows players to build their clubs from scratch and ascend to championship status. Importantly, UFL adopts a fair-to-play philosophy, prioritizing skill over pay-to-win mechanisms.
While an official release date is pending confirmation, UFL will enter a closed testing phase soon. The game’s availability will extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles.
