Ex-Riot Games Senior Game Director, Joe Ziegler, announced that his new home will be the US-based video game company Bungie. Ziegler had previously shared that he would no longer be part of the Riot Games team back in early December 2022.

The experienced director had been working under the Riot banner for over 12 years and originated the idea for the widely popular Riot title, Valorant. Ziegler made the announcement of leaving the company with these words:
“Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that after 12 great years at Riot, this week will be my last week. I am departing with a heart full of gratitude for Riot Games and all of you for the amazing memories we’ve shared together. Will update very soon with my next home.”
Ziegler will mantle the role of Game Director for Bungie. The company is best known for creating the Halo and Destiny series, and it’s currently working on the seventh expansion pack for Destiny 2. The game industry veteran broke the news once again on his Twitter page:
“Happy to announce my new home is at Bungie, working on new stuff that hopefully will one day get to be played by you all. Much love.”
Bungie has seen some activity in 2022, especially in its second half. In July, the company officially closed a $3.6 billion deal and became a subsidiary of Sony. It was also rumored that Destiny 2 might get a mobile version, but an official confirmation is still pending.
