As the video game industry continues to grow, with the deals and library they provide, game subscription services are becoming more and more attractive for gamers. According to SafeBettingSites, 62% of avid US gamers currently use one or more gaming subscription services.

The subscription-based model has become the new normal in the entertainment industry, and the game industry is not an exception. These services offer their rich library and exclusives for a fixed fee. Services such as Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Now, Apple Arcade, EA Play, etc., have defined the meta in the industry with their way of work. According to Juniper Research, revenues from gaming services were $6.6 billion in 2020, and they are expected to reach $11 billion in 2025.

According to a recent survey, these services have become a part of the daily life of US gamers. 52% of all US gamers and 62% of all avid US gamers stated that they use one or more of such services. The usage is even higher among PC and console users. 74% of console users in the US are currently subscribed to a gaming subscription service. While the acceptance rate among PC users is slightly lower compared to console users, it’s still widely accepted. 66% subscription rate means two out of every three PC gamers enjoy these services.

“Avid gamers” in the survey is that the gamers who play at least seven hours of video games per week.

75% of millennial gamers use subscription services in the US

These subscription services have the most considerable acceptance among millennial gamers in the United States. According to the survey, 75% of millennial gamers, both casual and avid, use at least one of the subscription services in the country.

The acceptance rate among Gen Z gamers is lower than that among Millennials. Only 62% of Gen Z gamers said they pay for such services. 49% of Gen X gamers admit to using these services.

Expectedly, Baby Boomers are the least interested in such subscription models, with only 15% of gamers in that age group currently subscribed to any gaming subscription service.
