LocusX announced CAD$3M (approximately $2.2M) in Seed funding to develop and launch its AI-powered issue resolution engine built to supercharge video game and complex software development. Focused on both quality and efficiency, the software will allow teams to ship better games more quickly. Diagram and Triptyq co-led the funding round.

In an era of rising costs, tighter deadlines, and relentless player demands, gaming studios must adapt and innovate or risk falling behind industry standards. The bug fixing pipeline, known to be costly and time-consuming, is the source of many AAA game development delays.

LocusX addresses this issue head-on.

LocusX, the first AI-powered resolution engine improves the production process by:

  • Ensuring high game quality: LocusX enhances workflow, resulting in an increased fixing daily ratio, which ultimately builds quality and stability.

  • Boosting efficiency: LocusX provides AI insights during the development process to track performance, coverage, and resource balancing.

  • Increasing resolution confidence: The platform validates, optimizes, and exposes the bug resolution metrics to stakeholders with real-time performance dashboards.

LocusX works by ingesting data from any given game and providing recommendations through a suite of agents, including QA process automation, resolution recommendations, metric visualization, build system assistance, player trend identification, and testing coverage validation. Implementing LocusX has led to an acceleration of the resolution cycle time.

“Game development is under more pressure than ever. Studios are expected to deliver faster and better with fewer resources. We built LocusX to solve debugging, one of the most frustrating and expensive parts of the process.

Our engine empowers teams with the tools to resolve issues faster, build with more confidence, and ultimately ship higher-quality games.”

“AI is transforming how games are built, and debugging is one of the areas where its impact is most immediate. At LocusX, we use AI to pinpoint, prioritize, and suggest fixes that streamline development pipelines and accelerate delivery.

This turns what used to be a reactive, manual grind into a proactive, automated process. Developers can now spend less time fighting bugs and more time pushing the boundaries of gameplay.”

Yan Cote is an engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded Vrvana, the company behind the Totem mixed reality headset acquired by Apple in 2017. At Apple, he transitioned his focus to applied machine learning, serving as a key algorithm architect in the Vision Pro product division, continuing to push the boundaries of immersive technology while advancing innovations at the intersection of XR and artificial intelligence.

“The gaming industry is entering a new era where efficiency, data, and automation will be just as important as creativity.

LocusX sits at the center of this shift. Their platform tackles one of the most costly bottlenecks in game development with AI-powered precision.”
