Backbone receives $40 million investment

Backbone, which launched mobile game controllers for the iPhone last year, has returned with $40 million from a new funding round.

Backbone had released game controllers for more comfortable mobile gaming on iPhone devices. These units, called Backbone One, were launched as both a game controller and a social platform. Recently, the company received an investment of 40 million dollars to develop its activities in this field.

Index Ventures led the investment round in cooperation with Adjacent. Another notable name among investors was Jason Citron from Discord. Index Ventures Partner Damir Becirovic said in a statement on the subject:

“There are nearly three billion mobile gamers worldwide and counting. Backbone is transforming mobile gaming for these players by turning the phone into a console-like experience. Backbone has built a unified experience that makes it simple for gamers to find games, connect with their friends, and enjoy content in a deeper and more engaging way, which we believe represents the future of mobile gaming.”

Backbone One sistemi, 2021 yılında piyasaya sürüldü. Bu cihazlar, Apple Arcade, Xbox Games Pass, GeForce Now, Stadia, Luna, Steam Link sistemlerinde sorunsuz çalışıyor. Backbone One, oyun deneyimine sağladığı katkı ile de birçok oyuncudan olumlu geri bildirim aldı.
