Amplifier Game Invest, a subsidiary of Embracer Group, has announced the formation of the US-based game company Studio Hermitage. The studio will be led by game industry veterans Paxton Galvanek, Justin Achilli, and Andy Foltz.
The press release states that Studio Hermitage will look to become a lasting transmedia game company, creating new IPs for various platforms and formats. The studio aims to start by focusing on world-building and developing a new IP to find the right fit for its upcoming games. Hermitage will then turn efforts to recruitment to form a team of 20 creatives, primarily in the Raleigh area.
Per-Arne Lundberg, CEO of Amplifier Game Invest, commented:
“We have found a fantastic opportunity to bring together this team of extraordinary designers and visionaries. The experience and expertise they bring, not only to the new studio but also to the Amplifier Game Invest group itself, are tremendous. We are very happy to see our Startup Subsidiary model being a great fit for their plans for the future.”
Paxton Galvanek, CEO of Studio Hermitage, added:
“I’m truly excited and honored to embark on this new opportunity with Andy and Justin, together with Amplifier Game Invest. I look forward to sharing more information with you soon. A Hermitage is a secluded, peaceful getaway, and with this studio, we hope to create a unique environment, giving creative professionals the opportunity to make something truly groundbreaking.”
The founding trio has a combined experience of over 70 years and will soon launch the recruitment process. Studio Hermitage will act as a wholly owned subsidiary of Amplifier Game Invest AB, joining the ranks of 18 other game development companies already part of the Amplifier group.
