Google has shared Google Play’s Best of 2022 awards, marking two new awards for Apex Legends: Mobile. The mobile Battle Royale title managed to win both the Best Game by Users’ Choice and Best Game by Google Play Editorials’ Choice awards.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, the game took the world by storm when it first came out on PC and consoles in 2019. The storm brewed even stronger as Apex Legends: Mobile entered the mobile game space in May 2022.

Google announced the winners in a blog post on its official website and praised the title with these sentences:

“Apex Legends Mobile rose through the Esports ranks, regularly trending and appearing in the top 10 download lists throughout the year. The game brings all the excitement of the Apex Legends series to mobile and tablets so you can easily play wherever you are.”

The remaining winners of the game category are as follows:

  • Best Indies: Dicey Dungeons
  • Best Story: Papers, Please
  • Best Ongoing: Genshin Impact
  • Best Multiplayer: Dislyte
  • Best Pick Up & Play: Angry Birds Journey
  • Best on Play Pass: Very Little Nightmares

The title has been on a run award-wise, recently securing the Phone Game of the Year award at the 2022 App Store Awards. On the PC and console space, The Game Awards 2022 is just around the corner, as God of War Ragnarok tops the award show with ten nominations.
