Aptoide, the original independent app store, announced the full launch of Aptoide for iOS in the European Union (EU). All iPhone users in EU countries can now access the first free alternative app store on the iOS operating system, ushering in a new era of potential freedom and diversity in digital content distribution.

The Aptoide for iOS beta first opened in June 2024 and has since attracted tens of thousands of early adopters, who have been among the first to try a new way of accessing games on their Apple mobile devices.

Now, anyone can install and use the app instantly, making it easier than ever to explore and install games beyond the limitations of Apple’s App Store.

“This full launch marks a major milestone in game distribution on iOS and Aptoide’s commitment to an open and unrestricted app distribution ecosystem. Apple users now have access to newfound freedoms, but there’s a huge amount of work still to be done to continue opening up iOS globally and reduce friction for users, and game developers.”

Paulo Trezentos, CEO of Aptoide

As part of the launch of Aptoide for iOS, a groundbreaking App Versions feature has been introduced which allows users to install and enjoy older versions of their favorite games. Exclusive to the Aptoide store, this feature grants consumers greater flexibility and control over their game experience.

This is an unprecedented feature in the iOS ecosystem, setting the app apart by granting users control over app versions like never before. Unlike the rigid update structures of traditional app marketplaces, Aptoide empowers users to customize their game experience freely—something that was previously exclusive to Android users.
