Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next title in the Assassin’s Creed series, will be released worldwide on October 12, 2023. The announcement was made during the PlayStation Showcase event, where the release date and trailer were shared.
The new trailer showcases the tools and skills Basim will use to find and eliminate his targets, guided by his friends among the “Hidden Ones”. Basim stands out as one of the most agile and skilled assassins in the Assassin’s Creed series, and the trailer highlights his unique play style. With new abilities such as Assassin’s Focus, Basim has stealthy and deadly assassination techniques that can target and kill multiple enemies consequtively. The trailer also showcases the vibrant city of Baghdad, where Basim can use his parkour skills to move quickly.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is being made by the studio behind the Wrath of the Druids expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. The game is specifically an homage to the first Assassin’s Creed and aims to bring players to the golden age of ninth-century Baghdad. Assassin’s Creed Mirage combines parkour, stealth and assassination gameplay elements with a modern approach to deliver an intense story-driven action-adventure experience.
At a pivotal point in the game, players will control the character Basim Ibn Is’haq, a mysterious young street thief who joins the Hidden Ones in Alamut. Basim will be voiced by Lee Madjoub in the English version and Eyad Nassar in the Arabic version. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the first Assassin’s Creed game to be released with full Arabic localization, including text and voice. The game’s cast also includes Shohreh Aghdashloo, who voices Roshan, Basim’s mentor.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now available for pre-order. The game will be available for pre-order on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Amazon Luna, as well as Windows PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store. Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+ to access the game on launch day.
Players wo pre-order will also have access to an additional mission called The Forty Thieves, where they can uncover the mysteries of Ali Baba’s legendary cave full of treasures.
