BattleBit Remastered is dominating Steam charts

The low-poly, massive multiplayer FPS is currently outselling games like Starfield.

The low-poly, massive multiplayer FPS BattleBit Remastered has taken the Steam gaming scene by storm since its release on June 15. Developed by SgtOkiDoki, Vilaskis, and TheLiquidHorse, the game has %88 positive reviews and just had an all-time peak of 61,390 players yesterday. The game is currently outselling games like Starfield and, as of writing, is ranked 2nd on best selling games chart.

Inspired by Battlefield, the early access game offers 19 maps and up to 254 players per server. Players can ride cars, tanks, ships, and helicopters and have more than 40 different weapons. Developers said, “Our plan is to remain in early access likely for two years, giving us sufficient time to refine our product based on user feedback. This duration isn’t fixed but is a projection of the time we believe will allow us to deliver a high-quality, user-centric product.”

What makes BattleBit Remastered special? The game offers a unique aesthetic style that many shooters don’t. Currently, FPS games either opt for high-end graphics or cute, comic-book-style visuals. BattleBit’s low-poly graphics are unique and brings something to the table that other FPS games do not.

The amount of maps and players is another big win for the game. Having 254 players on a map feels like a real experience, with bullets flying everywhere. Smooth gameplay and very minimal connection issues enhance the experience and offer players fun.

The success of Battlefield 2042, or the lack of it, also encouraged players to try BattleBit. Most of the positive reviews and comments on Reddit rightfully compare the game to Battlefield, and general consensus is that BattleBit felt more like Battlefield than recent Battlefield games.

BattleBit Remastered can be purchased and played on Steam.
