The German Games Industry Association has shared the list of best-selling games of 2022 in Germany. EA Sport’s FIFA 23 claimed the top spot of the chart as the best-selling game in the country.
Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring, which has won several Game of the Year awards found itself in third place as Pokémon Legends: Arceus became the second best selling game in the country. The best selling game of 2022 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II became fourth and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga found itself as the fifth best selling game of the year.
PlayStation’s fastest-selling first-party game God of War Ragnarök was ranked 10th, which comes out as a surprise.
The annual charts for 2022 list the games released that year for PCs and game consoles that were most often sold – physically and digitally, across platforms – in Germany in 2022. The data is gathered by Games Sales Data (GSD), a platform operated by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE). Digital sales of Nintendo titles from the Nintendo eShop are not included.
