BUG Lab, a game project laboratory initiated within the Communication Design Department of Bahçeşehir University (BAU), is an organization that aims to bring academics and students together to increase the sharing of experience, develop projects together and especially to be a training platform for those who want to start develop games. In this context, BUG Lab TEKMER, which was created as an incubation center supported by KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization of Türkiye), aims to provide a healthy basis for such initiatives and introduce them to the international market.

ENHANCER Gaming Hackathon
BUG Lab Tekmer also announced the ENHANCER Gaming Hackathon to be organized next month.
The ENHANCER Gaming Hackathon, organized within the scope of the “Enhancement of Entrepreneurship Capacities for Sustainable Socio-Economic Integration (ENHANCER) Project”, which is organized with the financial support of the European Union (EU) and carried out by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Republic of Türkiye will be held in Istanbul on 28-30 April.
Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and Syrian citizens residing or studying in Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Konya, Mersin and Şanlıurfa provinces can participate in the 48-hour ENHANCER Gaming Hackathon, which will take place at BAU Galata Campus, and applications have already started.
What are the conditions of participation?
As stated in the application form on the organization’s own page, it is sufficient to have citizenship of Türkiye, Syria or both countries. You can participate in the Hackathon on your own or with your own team and compete for prizes totaling up to €15,000 in different categories.
About Hackathon
– Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and Syrian citizens residing or studying in Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Konya, Mersin and Şanlıurfa can participate in the event. (While filling out the form, it’s requested to upload the residence or student certificate of these provinces to the system.)
– Food and beverages will be provided by BUG Lab TEKMER during the event.
– Those who will participate from outside the city must provide their own transport.
– Participants will be able to bring their own sleeping bags to use during rest breaks.
– During the event, volunteers and team members who can speak Turkish and Arabic will be present in the event area to assist the participants.
– Participation will be limited to 150 people.
– It’s possible to participate individually or as a team. Those who participate individually will be added to a team which suitable for their skills by the organization.
– Teams will consist of minimum 2 and maximum 5 people.
