Once the jewel of the game industry workers and gamers alike, E3 has been in a steady decline for quite some time and it’s been called off twice in the past three years. Earlier this summer, ESA President and CEO Stan Pierre-Louis spoke to the Washington Post and announced that E3 is coming back and will be in person.

Despite Pierre-Louis’ clear comments on the return of E3, there’s been some doubt over the whole thing. However, the cloud of doubt shall last no longer as ESA announced the official dates for E3 2023; 13 to 16 July.

ESA will hold the event at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event will be managed by ReedPop and will have separate business and public days. From Tuesday, June 13, to Thursday, June 15 the event will only let in people from the games industry and media.

On the 15th and 16th of June, anyone who’s got a ticket for the game expo will be allowed in the convention center and enjoy everything the event has to offer.

ReedPop’s Vice President of Gaming, Kyle Marsden-Kish said:

“E3 is one of the global gaming industry’s few opportunities to come together, unite as one loud voice, and show the world what it is creating. Our vision is to reunite the industry by re-establishing the traditional E3 week, bring back that spark, and restore E3’s role as a truly magical global showcase event for game creators and consumers.”

The organizers didn’t announce when the tickets will go for sale nor did they share any other key details such as the event schedule, however, considering how E3 2023 is nearly a year away it’s only normal that these details aren’t set in stone yet.

E3 2023 will have Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest as a competition next year, which started as a digital event and filled the gap E3 left during the last few summers and now will be an in-person event too.
